Mollywood stars including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, Prithviraj and many others paid homage to Bollywood star Dilip Kumar. The legendary actor died on Wednesday morning after prolonged illness.

Kumar, known to generations of film-goers as 'tragedy king', had been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital, a non-COVID-19 facility, since Tuesday.

Megastar Mammootty took to his Facebook page and penned a heartfelt note paying tributes to the great actor. He also shared a pic that featured him sharing a stage with Dilip Kumar.

“Farewell to the legendary thespian. I’ve been graced by your love and affection every time I’ve met you. Your kindness and words made one feel like your own. Farewell to my all time favourite actor. There’s nobody like you. Before you or after you,” wrote Mammootty on his Facebook page.

Mohanlal stated that Dilip Kumar was a doyen of Indian Cinema.

“Dilip Kumarji was the doyen of Indian Cinema and will forever be remembered. Condolences to his family and friends. May the legend's soul rest in eternal peace,” tweeted Mohanlal.

“Tributes to the legend,” wrote Manju Warrier paying tributes to the actor.

“Rest in peace #DilipKumar Sir!,” tweeted Prithviraj.

Young star Dulquer Salmaan penned a long note on the legendary actor. He opened up that Dilip Kumar is the favourite actor of his father megastar Mammootty.

“Farewell Dilip Kumar Saab.Just a few weeks ago my father and I spoke about you. You are someone he loves immensely. Both as an actor and as a person. He said there isn’t a more charming actor or a sweeter man than Dilip Saab. And that when you spoke your words were like honey flowing. He could listen and watch you speak endlessly. You are his absolute favourite. In fact if you ever spotted him, whether at an event or even abroad shopping, you would always make it a point to send for him. And then you would enquire about him and give him your love and your time.I love you for how much my father loves you. You were his own.I struggled through this entire note to avoid writing in past tense,” wrote Dulquer.

Kunchacko Boban, Unni Mukundan and many others from Mollywood took to their social media pages to pay homage to the legend.
