A video of Mohanlal and Prakash Varma dancing to the iconic ‘Papa Kehte Hain’ from Aamir Khan’s Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak has taken the internet by storm.

Veteran actor Mohanlal and ad filmmaker-turned-actor Prakash Varma have set social media abuzz after a video of them singing and dancing together went viral. The duo delighted fans by performing to the evergreen track ‘Papa Kehte Hain Bada Naam Karega’ and recreating the dance steps from their hit film ‘Thudarum’.
The clip, filmed during the grand event ‘Hridayapoorvam Mohanlal’ held in Qatar, has quickly become an online sensation. Viewers flooded the comment section with admiration, calling Mohanlal a “man of many talents,” while others wrote, “Awesome,” “Superb,” and “Mohanlal proves 65 is just a number.”
The video captures the two stars sharing an infectious camaraderie as they sing and dance to ‘Papa Kehte Hain’, laughing and enjoying their time on stage. One playful comment read, “Benz and George Sir in a parallel universe.”
The iconic song, composed by Anand–Milind with lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri and sung by Udit Narayan, originally featured Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla in the 1988 blockbuster Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.
Clips and photographs from the event have been circulating widely online, with this latest performance becoming the standout highlight of the event.
Mohanlal and Prakash Varma had previously shared the screen in Tarun Moorthy’s ‘Thudarum’, where Varma earned acclaim for his powerful portrayal of the antagonist George Sir. The film was a massive box-office success, grossing over ₹200 crore worldwide, including ₹118 crore from Kerala alone. Featuring an ensemble cast including Binu Pappu, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Thomas Mathew, and Irshad, the film was written by KR Sunil, with Tarun Moorthy co-writing the screenplay. ‘Thudarum’ is currently streaming on JioHotstar in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
Meanwhile, 2025 has been a resurgent year for Mohanlal. After facing a series of underperforming releases, the actor has made a strong comeback with five back-to-back hits. His cumulative Kerala box-office total has now crossed ₹250 crore. With new successes like ‘Empuraan’, ‘Thudarum’ and ‘Hridayapoorvam’, alongside the theatrical re-release of fan favourites ‘Chotta Mumbai’ and ‘Ravanaprabhu’, Mohanlal’s enduring stardom continues to shine across generations.
