Veteran actors Mohanlal and Mammootty paid tributes to actress Kanakalatha, who passed away on the previous day. 

In a post shared on Facebook, Mohanlal recalled working with the actress in various movies. 

"The beloved Kanakalatha was once an active figure in Malayalam cinema. She has played various roles in more than 280 Malayalam films and in Tamil. Our paths crossed in numerous movies, including the notable film Kireedam. My heartfelt condolences to a beloved sister who has departed from this world," he wrote. 

Kanakalatha, 63, who captivated South Indian audiences with her performances in over 350 films, passed away on Monday at her residence here. She had been battling Parkinson’s Disease and dementia. 

Meanwhile, actor Mammootty also paid tribute to the actress. He posted a photo of the actress and wrote, 'Condolences to Kanakalatha'.
