Released in 2000, 'Devadoothan' wasn't exactly a box-office success. However, over the time, this film starring Mohanlal went on to become a cult classic and is often described as one of his best works. 

Recently, Kokers Media Entertainments, the film's producer, unveiled a poster hinting at its re-release. The poster showcases Mohanlal gazing at a flying pigeon, accompanied by the caption "Coming Soon". 

The production team has completed digital colour correction work to enhance the film's visual quality.

'Devadoothan' was a genre-blending thriller incorporating elements of horror, mystery, love and music. Mohanlal played the character of Krishna Murthy, a musician, alongside Jayaprada as Aleena and Vineeth Kumar as Maheshwar. The ensemble cast included Jagathy Sreekumar, Janardhanan, Murali, Sarath, Jagadish, Vijayalakshmi, Lena, Radhika and Nirmala in key roles.

The film's music, composed by Vidyasagar, remains cherished by fans, particularly the song "Entero Mahanubhavulu", which holds a special place in their hearts. Vidyasagar's work on the soundtrack earned him the State Award for Best Music Director that year.
