Actor and producer Maniyanpilla Raju recently shared a memory of working with veteran actor Mohanlal, shedding light on the actor's exceptional dedication to his craft. Raju emphasized how Mohanlal’s work ethic sets him apart in the Malayalam film industry.

In an interview with Silly Monks, Maniyanpilla Raju emphasized on Mohanlal's work ethic, describing him as a "very hardworking person." He explained, "Every actor in the Malayalam industry works hard, but Mohanlal's range is different. He works really hard. He is ready to go for shoots at any time of the day or night."

Raju went on to recount an incident during the COVID-19 lockdown when, despite the challenging circumstances, Mohanlal remained restless and eager to get back to work. "During the lockdown, when everyone was in a lockdown, Mohanlal called me in the morning and told me that he was getting restless without doing any movie. Such is his dedication," Raju shared.

Raju also recalled an extraordinary moment during the filming of the 1989 action-thriller ‘Adhipan,’ where Mohanlal's commitment to the project was put to the test. "During the filming, Mohanlal was really sick. He suffered from throat pain, earache, and Pharyngitis. We took him to a hospital, and the doctor said that he had a bad throat and needed at least three days of rest. But he was not ready to take rest," Raju said.

Despite his condition, Mohanlal insisted on filming the scheduled fight sequence that day. "He got ready and went to the location. The filming continued until 2 am. After every fight scene, I saw him go to his room and cry, unable to bear the pain. Yet, after that, he would get ready and do the next sequence. He couldn’t even swallow anything because of the pain, yet he completed his sequence, bearing everything," Raju added.

Released in 1989, ‘Adhipan,’ directed by K Madhu, featured Mohanlal in a pivotal role alongside Parvathy and Monisha. The film tells the story of Shyamprakash (Mohanlal), a prominent criminal lawyer seeking revenge against a businessman who had evaded justice for the murder of his sister.
