The film is being touted as the 'biggest violent-action film' in Malayalam cinema.

In a recent interview with Movie World Media, scriptwriter Abhilash Pillai, who is also involved in the project, shared his excitement about the film and Unni Mukundan's dedication to the role. Reflecting on his early preview of Marco, Abhilash described the visuals and intensity of the film, noting that he was one of the lucky few to see it before it hits the big screen.
"I was fortunate to be one of the first to see the film’s visuals. Unni showed me some of the footage, and I was astounded by his dedication. I asked him how he managed to pull off such intense scenes," said Abhilash. Unni’s response was revealing: "We’ve seen such films in other languages and applauded them. Why can’t we create something similar in our industry?" According to Abhilash, this conversation sparked a wave of inspiration for the film.
Earlier, a striking poster featuring the tagline 'Violence Incoming: Let’s Cut the Christmas Cake with Cubes Entertainment' further heightened anticipation.
Talking more about the film, the scriptwriter drew parallels between Marco and recent successful films like KGF and Kill, which have garnered widespread praise for their high-octane action. "We’ve all applauded KGF, and recently, Kill hit the screens with action from start to finish. It’s a full-on action film, and it got people talking," Abhilash pointed out. "Unni thought, 'Why can’t we make a similar film in Malayalam?' That’s the essence of Marco."
What sets Marco apart is its commitment to delivering a pan-Indian experience, according to the writer. "This film is certainly 100% a pan-Indian film. And when it comes to action, Unni is a maniac. I’ve witnessed it firsthand in an earlier movie," Abhilash added.
Notably, the film also marks the Malayalam debut of celebrated music director Ravi Basrur, known for his hit compositions in films like K.G.F and Salaar. Alongside Unni Mukundan, the film stars Siddique, Jagadish, Anson Paul, Kabir Duhan Singh, Abhimanyu Thilakan, Yukti Thareja, and a host of promising newcomers. It also features Bollywood actors in key roles, enhancing its pan-Indian appeal.
With Marco, Unni Mukundan and his team are pushing the boundaries of action cinema in Malayalam, aiming to deliver a film that will resonate not only with local audiences but also on a larger national scale. Fans of action films can expect a thrilling ride when the movie releases this December.
The film is being produced by Shareef Muhammed under the Cubes Entertainment banner, in collaboration with Unni Mukundan Films (UMF).
The momentum continues to build, with posters and making-of videos showcasing high-octane action that audiences eagerly await. Marco is expected to shatter several box office records. (With inputs from Agencies)
