Launch event
Maranamass officially kicked off with a launch event in Kochi back in August 2024. During the event, Basil, known for his sharp humour, joked, “Even though the title of the film is 'Marana Mass', since it is me who would be acting in it, the audience can expect a complete comedy entertainer.”
The film is set to hit theatres in April as a Vishu release. It is directed by debutant Sivaprasad, who co-wrote it with Romancham-fame actor Siju Sunny, based on a story by Siju himself.
Cast and crew
Apart from Basil, the film features a stellar cast, including Siju Sunny, Anishma, Rajesh Madhavan, Suresh Krishna, and Babu Antony. Behind the scenes, the movie is backed by a talented crew – cinematography by Neeraj Revi, editing by Chaman Chakko, and music by Thrishanku-fame Jay Unnithan.
Produced by Tovino Thomas, Tingston Thomas, Thanseer Salam, and Raphael Pozholiparampil, 'Marana Mass' is being made under the banner of Tovino Thomas Productions in association with Worldwide Films.
Before Maranamass, Basil was last seen in 'Ponman', the directorial debut of production designer Jothish Shankar. The critically acclaimed film, based on GR Indugopan’s novel 'Nalanchu Cheruppakkar', was released on 30 January and received praise for its storytelling and performances.
