Chennai: The makers of director Althaf Salim’s much-awaited Malayalam romantic comedy 'Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira,' starring Fahadh Faasil and Kalyani Priyadarshan, unveiled the first look poster of the film on Monday to mark the festive occasion of Vishu.
Taking to her social media handles, Kalyani Priyadarshan, who plays the female lead, wrote, “Their love story was perfect... until the wedding.” Sharing the poster, she added, “Ashiq Usman Productions is proud to reveal the official first look of 'Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira,' helmed by Althaf Salim and starring Fahadh Faasil, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Revathi Pillai.”
The film has generated significant buzz as it marks Althaf Salim’s second directorial venture after his debut film 'Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela,' which was well received by both critics and audiences. That film featured Nivin Pauly and Aishwarya Lekshmi in lead roles and boasted a strong supporting cast, including Shanthi Krishna, Siju Wilson, Ahaana Krishna, Lal and Sharafudeen.
In an earlier interview, Althaf revealed that 70 percent of the new film would be shot in Ernakulam, Kerala, while the remaining 30 percent would be filmed in Chennai. The project, described as a light-hearted entertainer, began production in April 2024 and moved ahead at a steady pace. In December 2024, rumours on social media began to circulate suggesting the film might release for Vishu in 2025.
However, instead of announcing a release date, the makers chose to reveal the film’s first look on the occasion of Vishu.
'Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira' features cinematography by Jinto George, music composed by Justin Varghese, and editing by Sundar Nayak. Art direction is by Ouseph John, with costume design handled by Mashar Hamsa. The film is produced by Ashiq Usman under the banner of Ashiq Usman Productions.
As of now, the official release date for the film has not been announced. IANS
