Actress Jyothirmayi is poised for a grand return with the film ‘Bougainvillea’, directed by Amal Neerad. The character she portrays has captured considerable attention on social media, particularly with the song ‘Sthuthi,’ which has gone viral. Many fans and industry peers have expressed their appreciation for her comeback.

Amidst the celebrations, actress Rima Kallingal responded to a comment on her Instagram post congratulating Jyothirmayi, which included a mention of ‘nepotism.’ Rima's original post stated, "Jyothirmayi appreciation post!! I mean... she ate and how," accompanied by a picture of Jyothirmayi from the ‘Sthuthi’ song.

A user with the handle ‘Sridharhari1’ commented, "Wow, who is now supporting nepotism? As always, hypocrisy and double standards." This prompted Rima to question how the situation could be seen as nepotism. In reply, ‘Sridhhari1’ pointed out that Jyothirmayi is married to the director of ‘Bougainvillea’, suggesting that her role may stem from connections. The user also urged Rima to check who the lead actress and director were in the film ‘Neelavelicham’, released in 2023.

It is noteworthy that the director of ‘Neelavelicham’ is Rima’s husband, Aashiq Abu, with Rima herself playing the lead role. This indirect reference drew attention to the complexities surrounding nepotism within the industry. Rima countered by asking, “Who was Jyothirmayi before she became someone's wife?”. By this she meant that the person raising ‘accusations’ shall also make the effort to find out Jyothirmayi’s career accomplishments even before she got married to Amal Neerad/

Rima's post and ‘Sridharhari1's response have ignited a discussion in the comments section, with numerous individuals weighing in with both support and criticism for their stances.
