Mammootty has returned to Kerala to attend a landmark event where Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will officially declare the state free from extreme poverty.

Kochi: Malayalam superstar Mammootty returned to Kochi on Thursday after undergoing treatment in Chennai for the past eight months. The veteran actor was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of fans at the Kochi airport, where Minister P Rajeev also arrived to welcome him.
Mammootty, looking cheerful and energetic, drove himself home from the airport. His return brought joy to fans who had been eagerly awaiting his return.
After the long health break, the 73-year-old actor resumed shooting for his upcoming film Patriot in October 2025. He first joined the crew in Hyderabad before flying to London for the next schedule. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, Patriot marks Mammootty’s return to full-fledged work after months of speculation about his health. The megastar had confirmed his recovery and readiness to return to the screen.

The event will be held at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on November 1, 2025. Mammootty, Mohanlal and Kamal Haasan will be the special guests at the function.
