Kochi: An actress from Aluva has announced the withdrawal of her sexual harassment complaint against seven individuals, including Malayalam film actors Mukesh, Jayasurya, Idavela Babu and Balachandra Menon. She cited a lack of support from the government as the reason for stepping back from the case. The withdrawal came shortly after the investigation had commenced.

In addition to the actors, the complaint also named Noble and Bichu from the film industry, as well as Adv Chandrasekharan from the Congress Advocates’ Association.

The actress alleged that the incident involving Mukesh occurred in 2009 during the shooting of the film Natakame Ulakam, where Mukesh sexually harassed her. She also accused Idavela Babu of misconduct, claiming he lured her to a flat with the promise of membership in the film industry association (AMMA) and behaved inappropriately.

Regarding Balachandra Menon, the actress alleged that he sexually assaulted her during the shooting of the film De Ingottu Nokkiye. She claimed he called her to the shooting location and later assaulted her in a hotel. The actress explained that she had not spoken out earlier due to fear.

The case against Jayasurya was based on allegations of sexual harassment during a film shoot at the Secretariat. The actress claimed that Jayasurya grabbed and kissed her on a Secretariat corridor during the filming. This case had been registered by the Cantonment Police in Thiruvananthapuram, and the actress had made these allegations publicly.

The actress also pointed out that a POCSO case filed against her earlier was not properly investigated, highlighting her grievances regarding the handling of such complaints.
