Director and actor Major Ravi has condemned the cyber attacks against actress Nimisha Sajayan, stating that they are unacceptable. Nimisha had made remarks about Suresh Gopi impulsively on a public stage, and Major Ravi emphasised that there appeared to be no personal enmity involved. He pointed out that Nimisha is not a politician and may not have the resilience to withstand the current online assaults.

"Gokul Suresh responded very maturely to Nimisha's comments. He admitted to get his feeling hurt, but deplored the ongoing attacks against her. It demonstrates his maturity,  reflecting his upbringing," Major Ravi remarked.

He continued, "It is not acceptable to use her past comments as a basis for attacking Nimisha now. Suresh is a friend, and his family is also close to me. Many others have criticised Suresh, but if you think Suresh will appreciate this, you are wrong. Suresh is a very spirtitual person, and I don't think he would approve of these attacks. This cyber crucifixion should stop."

The cyber attacks stemmed from Nimisha's four-year-old statement regarding Suresh Gopi's defeat from Thrissur constituency in the last general elections. During a public event, Nimisha had said, "We have not given Thrissur even after it was asked. In that sense, will we give India when it is asked for?"

The online harassment began when Suresh Gopi won with a significant majority from the Thrissur Lok Sabha seat this parliament elections.

Suresh Gopi's son, actor Gokul Suresh, has responded to the controversy, expressing sadness over Nimisha's past comments, but disapproving of the personal attacks against her.
