Kochi: In a recent development, the lawyer representing the producers of the film 'Manjummel Boys' has withdrawn from the case. The producers' plea for anticipatory bail has been postponed to June 12, with Justice C S Dias cautioning this would be their final opportunity.

The lawyer withdrew from the case while the plea was still pending, purportedly due to the petitioner's reluctance to accept proposed settlement terms.

Previously, the High Court had intervened to halt the arrest of the accused in the fraud case. This order is extended until June 12. The court is now reviewing the anticipatory bail application filed by producers Shawn Antony, Soubin Shahir, and Babu Shahir.

The case relates to a complaint lodged by Siraj, a resident of Aroor, with the Maradu police, alleging financial mismanagement after investing Rs 7 crore in the film. The police report submitted to the court highlighted serious financial irregularities allegedly committed by the producers.
