New Delhi: After 25 years of making television history, the iconic Hindi soap opera Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has returned with Season 2, much to the joy of fans across the country. The show, which originally aired in the early 2000s and became a cultural phenomenon, made its comeback on StarPlus and Disney+ Hotstar, sparking a wave of emotional reactions on social media.

While beloved characters Tulsi and Mihir are back, now portrayed by new actors, fresh faces have also joined the extended Virani family, adding a modern twist to the classic saga.

On social media platform X, the response was immediate and overwhelmingly emotional, as longtime viewers revisited their childhood memories with the show’s return.

"I was crying like a baby… so many memories with this title track," wrote one user, reflecting the sentiments of many who grew up watching the show with their families.

Another user shared, "Mummy papa ke chehre pe woh khushi dekhkar samajh gaya (Seeing that happiness on my parents' faces, I understood) – nostalgia isn’t just a word, it’s a feeling."

The show’s return has rekindled discussions about the “golden era of Indian television,” when families would rearrange their schedules to watch Kyunki and others like it. Back then, some even went so far as to decorate their homes like the Virani mansion, inspired by the lavish sets and family dynamics.

However, not all reactions were entirely sentimental. Some users critiqued the visual presentation, "Don’t want to be rude, but why are Smriti Irani’s under-eye bags so visible? Don’t they have

workshops before shooting? These eye bags were really distracting!" one user commented, referring to the appearance of Tulsi.

Yet the love for the show and its characters remained undiminished, "Evergreen Karan and Nandini. Ahhhh… still they look so beautiful together. Karan and Tulsi’s bond used to be so precious."

"Who would've thought? After 25 YEARS, we’re watching Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi all over again. Some things don’t age… they become LEGENDS."

"Oh the flashbacks with the BGM… Damn good!" added another.

The reboot has proven that nostalgia sells, and when it comes wrapped in a legacy as strong as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, it can create magic all over again.
