Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor, son of Shashi Kapoor and uncle to Ranbir Kapoor, recently stirred a lively debate after making candid remarks about vegetarians during Pooja Bhatt’s podcast.

Kunal admitted he “strongly dislikes vegetarians” and confessed that he often looks at them with “disdain.” He explained his perspective, saying that while he offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food to guests at his home, he is rarely offered non-vegetarian dishes when visiting vegetarian households.

Calling vegetarians “racist,” Kunal jokingly explained to Pooja, Alia Bhatt’s elder sister, “Because you deny me being a non-vegetarian. On my table, you’ll have vegetarian food and non-vegetarian food. But when I go to a vegetarian house, he won’t give me non-vegetarian food. But in my house, I’ll treat him. I’ll give him veg and non-veg food.”

The clip quickly went viral, with many fans pointing out that food controversies seem to run in the Kapoor family. Recently, Ranbir Kapoor faced a similar stir when he was seen enjoying fish curry, mutton, and paaya with his family in Netflix’s documentary Dining with the Kapoors, despite earlier claiming he had given up non-vegetarian food, alcohol, and smoking to prepare for his role as Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.

A Reddit post highlighting Ranbir’s clip read, "Ranbir Kapoor’s PR team claimed he gave up non-vegetarian food out of respect for playing Lord Ram in the Ramayana movie, but he is seen enjoying fish curry, mutton, and paaya with his family. Ranbir Kapoor has the most effective PR in Bollywood."
