The 82nd Golden Globe Awards are just around the corner, set to take place on Sunday, 7 January 2025. The awards recognise outstanding achievements in film and television, with a star-studded lineup of nominees. Here's a look at the key contenders in major categories for this year’s ceremony.
The surreal musical Emilia Perez leads all films with 10 nominations. The genre-defying movie, directed by French filmmaker Jacques Audiard, tells the story of a Mexican drug lord transitioning into a woman. Emilia Perez has already made waves at the Cannes festival and is now aiming for success at the Golden Globes, hoping to propel its momentum toward the Oscars. The film’s nominations include three acting nods for Karla Sofia Gascon (the title character), Selena Gomez, and Zoe Saldana.
