After the phenomenal success of Mahanati, a performance that earned her nationwide acclaim and a National Award — Keerthy Suresh has revealed that she unexpectedly found herself in a six-month career lull. Rather than viewing the pause as a setback, the actress embraced the downtime, using it as an opportunity for reinvention.

Speaking at a recent press meet, as reported by Reporter Live, Keerthy opened up about the surprising silence that followed one of the defining moments of her career. The Nag Ashwin-directed biopic, in which she portrayed legendary actress Savitri, was both a critical and commercial triumph. Yet, despite the film’s success, Keerthy said the industry did not immediately come calling.

“Would you believe me if I say that after the release of Mahanati, I didn’t get any films for almost six months? No one even came to narrate a script to me,” she revealed.

Still, the actress explained that she chose to remain optimistic. “I wasn’t disappointed because I knew I hadn’t done anything wrong. I took it positively, thinking people were taking time to create a strong role for me. I used that gap to work on a makeover,” she shared.

The biopic not only showcased Keerthy Suresh’s remarkable range but also significantly expanded her fanbase, particularly within the Telugu film industry. The film starred Dulquer Salmaan as Gemini Ganesan, with Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda in pivotal roles.
