Known for roles that brought both humour and emotional depth, he became a familiar face across Karnataka. His breakthrough came with Kashinath's Ajagajantara (1991), where he played Broker Bheemayya, followed by memorable roles in Shhh!, Tharle Nan Maga, and Belliappa Bangarappa. When did his health start to decline?

Despite failing his SSLC exams, Janardhan found employment as an office attendant at Jayalakshmi Bank, thanks to a recommendation. While working, he pursued theatre during the evenings. His performance in the play Gowdra Gadla caught the attention of director-actor Dheerendra Gopal, leading to his debut in Oorige Upakari (1982). After several minor roles and a brief hiatus, he returned with a pivotal role in Ajagajantara, which established him as a distinctive comic actor.
