Kangana Ranaut has reacted to actor Piyush Mishra’s remarks about Naseeruddin Shah’s comments on the silence of A-list celebrities, calling the veteran actor a ‘lomdi’ or fox in an Instagram post.

A fresh exchange between actors Kangana Ranaut, Naseeruddin Shah and Piyush Mishra has brought attention to comments made around the ongoing student protests in Jharkhand.
The most latest escalation came after Piyush Mishra questioned Naseeruddin Shah’s earlier remarks about celebrities staying silent during protests. Kangana subsequently shared a story about Mishra’s comments on Instagram and took aim at Shah.
In her story, Kangana used the Hindi word “lomdi”, meaning fox, while referring to Shah. She also said that she would rather be called a dog, linking the animal with loyalty.
Kangana wrote that she takes pride in standing by and fighting for the country she belongs to. She then contrasted this with her view of Shah, saying that while he “eats the bread” of this country, he fights for a neighbouring country.
She further described being called a dog as a compliment, saying that loyalty and cuteness are rare qualities. Kangana concluded her post by saying, “I rather be a dog than a lomdi (fox) like Nasiruddin.”

The remark came after Piyush Mishra questioned Shah's earlier use of a metaphor involving dogs and bones.
Shah had commented on the silence of several prominent film personalities during the protests, saying that celebrities would speak when their conscience prompted them to. He used the phrase about a dog with a bone in its mouth being unable to bark.
Mishra later referred to those comments after meeting students protesting in Ranchi. He questioned who the “dogs” with “bones in their mouths” were in the present situation.
The comments have since led to a wider exchange involving the three actors, with Kangana's “lomdi” remark becoming the latest point of attention.
