Singer and dubbing artist Kalpana Raghavendra claimed that her husband was the reason she survived and asserted that there were no personal issues in her life. Kalpana was hospitalised in a critical condition after reportedly consuming an excessive dose of sleeping pills.

In a video shared from the hospital, she explained that she had been struggling with sleep deprivation for several years due to the pressure of her studies and career. Kalpana said she had been taking medication as per the doctor's advice, but the overdose happened accidentally.

"There are some false reports circulating about me and my husband. This video is to clarify the matter. At this age, I am pursuing various courses like PhD and LLB while also focusing on my music career. Due to this, I have been under tremendous stress and haven't been able to sleep properly for several years. I sought medical advice, and the doctor prescribed medication," she said.

"That day, I accidentally took an excess dose of the medicine and fell unconscious. But if I am alive and speaking to everyone today, the only reason is my husband. He struggled a lot to save me. He rescued me at the right time and took me to the hospital, which is why I survived. Please don't believe false news. I have no personal problems. By God's grace, I am blessed with my husband Prasad Prabhakar and my loving daughter Dayaprasad," Kalpana added.

Kalpana had earlier denied reports that she had attempted suicide. Speaking to news agency IANS, she revealed that she initially took eight sleeping pills but couldn't fall asleep. When she was still unable to sleep, she consumed 10 more tablets, which led to her losing consciousness. She added that she had no recollection of what happened afterwards.
