Mumbai: The newly released sci-fi blockbuster 'Kalki 2898 AD' continues to dominate the box office charts with impressive earnings. Within India, the film has grossed Rs 392.45 crore net, while its global collections have surged to Rs 700 crore within just one week of its release.

The movie has surpassed the box-office performance of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan', which earned Rs 600 crore in its first week. Despite this achievement, it lags behind 'RRR' and 'K.G.F: Chapter 2' in total earnings. The film's substantial overseas success is credited largely to the Telugu-speaking audience worldwide.

On its opening day, 'Kalki 2898 AD' garnered Rs 95.3 crore at the box office. By the seventh day, collections saw a 76% decline, with the film earning Rs 22.5 crore on that day. Initial trends indicated considerable contributions from Telugu-speaking states to the film's overall box-office performance.

As of now, morning 3D show occupancy in Telugu stands at 18.32%, with night shows at 43.14%. In Hindi, another major market for the film, morning 3D show occupancy is at 13.80%, with night shows at 34.69%.

The movie stars legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, whose character has been earning widespread admiration, veteran Tamil star Kamal Haasan, Telugu sensation Prabhas, and Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone. It also features cameo appearances by several other stars from across India's film industries including Dulquer Salmaan from the Malayalam film industry.
