Chennai: Streaming giant JioStar will host its flagship event "JioHotstar South Unbound" on December 9 in Chennai to unveil its upcoming South Indian content slate and strengthen its commitment to regional talent development. Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and actor-politician Kamal Haasan will inaugurate the event, which is being positioned as a "landmark celebration of Southern cinema and creativity".
Ahead of the event, JioStar's leadership team, led by Krishnan Kutty, Head Entertainment Business, South Cluster, met with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin to outline the "vision, ambition and cultural significance" of the initiative. The meeting underscored JioStar's strategic focus on strengthening ties with the state government and the regional entertainment industry.
The event will bring together leading filmmakers, creators, and talent from across South India, with JioStar expected to announce new content projects spanning multiple regional languages.
