Actor Kalidas Jayaram and model Tarini Kalingarayar tied the knot in a traditional ceremony held at the Guruvayur Temple on Sunday. The ceremony was attended by close friends and families.
Speaking to reporters after the wedding, Kalidas, along with his parents Jayaram and Parvathy, and Tarini expressed their gratitude to everyone for their well wishes.
"We are so happy. Especially, I am delighted that Kannan (Kalidas) tied the knot in front of Guruvayoorappan. The participation of the people, and the support we received, is beyond words. People came from all parts of Kerala. I am truly grateful that, just as people gathered to witness our wedding (with Parvathy) 32 years ago, they came to celebrate our son's wedding as well," said Jayaram.
Tarini Kalingarayar, a model and native of Nilgiris, had been in a relationship with Kalidas for a long time. Their wedding celebrations included a pre-wedding event held in Chennai last Friday, with the official ceremony set for Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Parvathy shared her joy, mentioning that this year had been particularly busy with two weddings and several other events. Kalidas’s sister, Malavika, also got married in Guruvayur earlier this year.
"It is all God's blessings, especially Guruvayoorappan's blessings," she said.
Kalidas spoke about the nervousness he felt before the wedding but said that all his fears disappeared once they reached Guruvayur. He has known Tarini for over three years and expressed his gratitude for the blessings they have received.
"I apologize if there were any issues due to the busy schedule," he added. Tarini, too, expressed her happiness, saying she was overwhelmed with joy and couldn't find words to express it.
Prominent guests at the event included Minister Mohammed Riyas, actor and Union Minister Suresh Gopi, son Gokul Suresh, and director Major Ravi, among others.
Kalidas and Tarini's engagement took place in Chennai in November. Their relationship became public in 2022 when Tarini participated in the Onam celebrations at Kalidas’s home. Tarini was crowned Miss Tamil Nadu and Miss South India First Runner-Up in 2019 and also competed in the Miss Diva Universe pageant in 2022.
