
Chennai: Actor Jayam Ravi has made headlines after announcing his divorce from his wife, Aarti, following 15 years of marriage. The news was shared through a post on the social media platform X, where he expressed that the decision was made with great sorrow.
In response, Aarti claimed she was not informed about the divorce announcement and felt blindsided by the news. She expressed her feelings of losing dignity and individuality due to Ravi's statement, despite the couple having lived with mutual trust and respect for 18 years. The two have reportedly been living apart for some time.

Following the announcement, Jayam Ravi has taken steps to distance himself from their shared life, including removing pictures with Aarti and their children from his social media accounts. Reports also indicate that he has filed a complaint at the Adyar Police Station in Chennai, alleging that Aarti barred him from entering house. In his complaint, Ravi has reportedly asked the police for assistance in recovering his belongings, including his car and other personal property.
However, during police inquiries, Aarti reportedly denied the claim, stating that Jayam Ravi had not attempted to enter the house. Police have since advised the couple to seek a mutual resolution to their dispute.
In a related matter, it has come to light that Aarti, who had previously managed Jayam Ravi's Instagram account, has refused to return control of it. As a result, the actor reportedly contacted Meta to regain access to his account.
Furthermore, Jayam Ravi has expressed his intent to fight for custody of their children. In a recent interview, he emphasised his determination, saying he would pursue custody even if it took 20 years
