Actress and model Jaseela Parveen has made shocking allegations of physical and mental abuse against her former partner, Don Thomas Vithayathil. Sharing her ordeal on social media, Jaseela posted a detailed account of the alleged assaults and even shared a photograph showing severe injuries to her face.

According to Jaseela, the problems began when she questioned her partner’s drinking and smoking habits. She claimed that even though she reported the incident to the police after being assaulted, there was no immediate response. She further alleged that an FIR was registered only after Don Thomas filed for anticipatory bail.

“I want to share something important about what I have been going through, not for sympathy, but because I need support and guidance,” Jaseela wrote.

Recalling the alleged incident, she said, “On New Year’s Eve, I had an argument with my then-partner, Don Thomas Vithayathil, regarding his excessive drinking and smoking and his behaviour. During that argument, he became violent. He kicked me in my stomach, punched my face, smashed my head onto the floor, dragged me, and even bit me on my armpit and thighs. He struck me hard on my face with his metal bangle, which tore my upper lip. I lost a lot of blood.”

She continued, “I begged him to take me to the hospital, but he refused. When I tried to call the police, he snatched my phone. Later, he said he would take me to the hospital, but once we reached, he lied to the doctors saying I fell from the stairs. I was then referred to Sunrise Hospital, where I was admitted and underwent plastic surgery.”

Jaseela alleged that the abuse continued even after the incident.

“I have been tolerating and suffering everything inside me for so long. I can’t even begin to describe how depressed I was, how severely I was traumatized. Today, I just want to put it out — to speak my truth, to let the world know.

I was mentally and physically broken. I complained to the police, but there was no response. On January 14, I went in person to file a complaint. Still, no action was taken. The police only came for verification and registered an FIR after he had applied for anticipatory bail,” she stated.

She added that although the case is now progressing, the accused has filed a petition in the High Court to quash the case, claiming it was settled — a claim she denies.

“Now the case is moving forward. The charge sheet has been filed. The injury is serious. The evidence and medical records are clear. However, the opposing party has filed a quash petition in the High Court, arguing to dismiss the case based on a settlement I never agreed to.”

Expressing frustration over the slow progress, Jaseela wrote, “The case has been delayed for months. At this stage, I am appearing in court alone as I cannot afford to hire a lawyer. During yesterday’s hearing, I didn’t even get a chance to speak. I felt invisible inside the courtroom. This is not a small dispute. It is not a minor assault. It was a brutal attack.”

Speaking about the impact on her life and career, she shared, “As an artist, my face is my identity. I couldn’t work for months. I went through physical and mental trauma, medical treatment, financial loss, and depression. Meanwhile, the person who did this is moving forward by hiring lawyers and delaying the case proceedings.”

In her concluding note, Jaseela made an emotional appeal for justice. “This is my only demand: let the case go to trial. Let the evidence speak. Let the truth come out. If necessary, I am prepared to argue and defend the case alone. I want justice. I would be grateful if any lawyers here could provide guidance on how to ensure the petition to quash the case is dismissed and the trial proceedings can move forward,” she wrote.

Jaseela Parveen is a familiar face to Malayalam television audiences and is also active on social media. She was last seen in the series ‘Pet Detective’.
