“Sometimes, if Kamal ever gets into an accident…,” revealed Suhasini Maniratnam.

After years of speculation, Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth have officially confirmed their reunion for an upcoming untitled film, marking their first collaboration in 46 years. The announcement came at a recent awards event, generating excitement among fans and the film fraternity.
Speaking about their long-standing friendship, actor Suhasini Maniratnam highlighted the duo’s close bond, describing them as “like brothers” who constantly check on each other. She shared,
“Sometimes, if Kamal ever gets into an accident while shooting, Rajini sir will call me and ask, ‘Is Kamal hurting?’ If I say yes, he replies that if Kamal says it hurts, it really must be hurting because he never complains. They are very close like that,” she stated.
Kamal Haasan, reflecting on their collaboration, said it was long overdue and humorous in recalling past constraints, noting that earlier they had avoided working together to avoid sharing a single “biscuit” between them, now leaving it to the audience to judge the result. He also emphasized that there is no sense of competition between them.
The two legends have previously worked together in films such as Apoorva Raagangal and Moondru Mudichu. While reports suggest that Lokesh Kanagaraj may direct the project, it is yet to be officially confirmed. Currently, Kamal was last seen in Thug Life, while Rajinikanth featured in Coolie and shoot is underway for Jailer 2. (With inputs from Agencies)
