Bollywood actress Hina Khan, who is currently battling stage 3 breast cancer, has revealed that she is experiencing mucositis, a common side effect of chemotherapy. 

Taking to Instagram, the actress shared her struggles with the condition and sought advice from her followers. Back in June, she revealed that she was undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. 

Mucositis is the inflammation of the mucosa, which is the mucous membrane lining the mouth and the entire gastrointestinal tract. It commonly occurs as a side effect of cancer treatments involving radiation or chemotherapy. Although mucositis is temporary and heals on its own, it can be quite painful and poses certain risks.
We talked to experts to understand what the condition is and how to manage it.

"Another side effect of Chemotherapy is mucositis... Although I am following the doctor's advice to treat it... If any of you have been through it or have known any useful remedies. Please suggest. It's really hard when you can't eat. It will greatly help me," she wrote on Instagram. 

Hina is best known for her role as Akshara in one of the longest-running family drama, 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai'. The 36-year-old actor has also participated in reality shows like 'Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 8', 'Bigg Boss 11', and 'Bigg Boss 14'. She has been a part of shows like 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay' in which she essayed the role of Komolika, and 'Naagin 5'.
