
With Malayalam cinema embracing Kasaragod’s dialect and culture, more actresses from the region are making their mark on the silver screen. Aparna Hari, a native of Kanhangad, becomes the eighth heroine from Kasaragod to enter the industry, making her debut in the film ‘Ramanum Kadheejayum'.
Aparna plays the character Kadheeja, a young nomadic girl who collects old items. The film beautifully captures Kadheeja’s bond with a nomadic boy named Raman, and Aparna’s heartfelt performance has resonated with audiences. Her portrayal earned her praise and paved the way for her career as a theatre artist.
Aparna is the daughter of KR Hari and MG Sandhya and hails from Kanhangad. She completed her education at Chinmaya Vidyalaya and Durga Higher Secondary School in Kanhangad before pursuing a degree in media journalism in Mangaluru. Aparna is thrilled to have caught the attention of prominent directors.
Rising stars from Kasaragod

Kasaragod has recently produced a remarkable lineup of heroines in Malayalam cinema, including Mahima Nambiar, Chithra Nair, Anagha Narayanan, Vrindha Menon, Sreevidya Mullachery, Aparna Janardhanan and Vijisha Nileshwar.
Mahima is best known for her role in the film ‘RDX’. Chithra Nair, a native of Kunnumkai, has gained attention for her roles in ‘Nna Thaan Case Kodu’ and ‘Sureshanteyum Sumalathayudeyum Hrudayahariyaya Pranayakadha’. Anagha Narayanan, who has been featured in several films, is set to appear in her upcoming release, ‘Anpodu Kanmani’.
Vrindha Menon has also made a mark, starring opposite Saiju Kurup in ‘Upacharapoorvam Gunda Jayan’. She is currently filming for Senna Hegde’s latest project. Sreevidya Mullachery, a native of Perumbala, has already acted in five films, showcasing her versatility. Aparna Janardhanan, hailing from Nileshwar, has performed in Telugu and Malayalam films. Similarly, Vijisha Nileshwar, also from Nileshwar, has acted in films, including ‘Kundalapuranam'.
