The funeral rites of actor Shine Tom Chacko’s father CP Chacko were held solemnly. The ceremony took place around noon at the Carmel Mata Church in Mundur. Earlier, from 9 am, the body was laid at the family home in Mundur for public viewing.

The atmosphere at the house was heavy with grief. Overwhelmed by sorrow, Shine broke down in tears, unable to hold back his emotions. His brother Jo John comforted him tenderly. Their mother, who came to take a final look at her husband on a stretcher, was also overcome with grief, unable to contain her heartbreak.

Shine and his mother Mariya, who were at the hospital, arrived home in the morning. Shine sustained an injury to his left shoulder in the car accident, while Mariya suffered injuries to her ribs. At first, Mariya was not informed of Chacko’s passing; she was told he was receiving treatment in the ICU. It was only in the morning that they were told the heartbreaking news. Mariya is scheduled to undergo surgery following the funeral.

Many of Shine Tom’s relatives and friends gathered to pay their respects. Notable attendees included actors Tovino Thomas, Saubin Shahir, director Kamal and actress Sarayu, among others, who joined the ceremony to honour the departed.
