Mumbai: The internet went into a frenzy this week after reports claimed that Sunita Ahuja, wife of Bollywood actor Govinda, had filed for divorce at Mumbai’s Bandra Family Court. The speculation gained fuel when Sunita uploaded an emotional vlog on her YouTube channel, which many interpreted as a hint at marital discord.

However, breaking her silence, Sunita dismissed the chatter as baseless. Speaking to ANI, she strongly refuted the claims, saying, “If something had happened, then we would have been so close today. There would have been a distance between us. No one can separate us, not even if God comes from above... My Govinda is only mine and no one else’s. Echoing his mother’s stance, the couple’s daughter, Tina Ahuja, also told Hindustan Times that such talk is nothing but gossip. “It’s all rumours. I don’t pay attention to these rumours,” she said. Govinda and Sunita, married since 1987, share two children.

While Sunita has rubbished the latest divorce buzz, Govinda’s marriage has often found itself under scrutiny in the past. The biggest storm came in the early 2000s, when reports linked the superstar to actress Rani Mukerji.

After working together in Hadh Kar Di Aapne (2000), rumours of an affair spread rapidly. Gossip columns claimed Govinda showered Rani with expensive gifts, including a luxury car and an apartment. One senior journalist even alleged spotting the two together in a hotel room.
