Marvel had barely begun its Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con when the surprises started piling up.

From the first major look at ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ to Ryan Gosling stepping into the Marvel universe as Ghost Rider and the reveal of a new Black Panther, Marvel Studios turned its latest Comic-Con showcase into a night packed with major announcements.

Led by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, the presentation brought together stars, filmmakers and new footage from some of the studio’s biggest upcoming projects.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ brings Marvel’s biggest names together

The biggest portion of the presentation was dedicated to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, which saw directors Anthony and Joe Russo join Kevin Feige on stage alongside a huge part of the film’s cast.

Robert Downey Jr., who will play Victor von Doom, appeared alongside Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Simu Liu, James Marsden, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn and Tenoch Huerta Mejia.

Hayley Atwell also joined the panel and confirmed her return as Peggy Carter.

The cast list for the upcoming Avengers film also includes Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Ian McKellen, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, Sebastian Stan, Kathryn Newton, Alan Cumming and Mabel Cadena.

Marvel also gave fans in Hall H an exclusive look at the film. In a moment designed specifically for the audience, attendees were handed Doctor Doom masks and cloaks. Robert Downey Jr. then invited the crowd to put them on, turning the packed hall into a sea of Doom masks.

‘In Avengers: Doomsday’, heroes from three different universes are set to collide as they face a threat that puts their worlds at risk.

The film, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, is scheduled to release exclusively in theatres on December 18, 2026.

Ryan Gosling joins Marvel as Ghost Rider

The biggest new casting announcement of the night came when Kevin Feige revealed that Marvel Studios is working on a new ‘Ghost Rider’ film.

Ryan Gosling appeared on stage with director Shawn Levy as the two introduced the upcoming project. Gosling will lead the film, while Levy will direct. Jonathan Tropper is writing the screenplay.

The new Ghost Rider movie is currently scheduled to release in theatres in 2028.

While Marvel has not revealed the story details or Gosling’s version of the character, the announcement marks his first major role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Jon Bernthal previews The Punisher’s return in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’

The Hall H presentation also featured a surprise appearance from Jon Bernthal, who joined Kevin Feige to discuss his return as Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher, in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day.’

Bernthal also appeared in an exclusive early look at the upcoming film.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, starring Tom Holland, is scheduled to release in theatres on July 30, 2026.

David Jonsson is the new Black Panther

Marvel saved another major reveal for the end of the show.

Ryan Coogler, who directed ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, returned to the stage to discuss ‘Black Panther 3’. Letitia Wright and Winston Duke also joined him, with the film’s theatrical release date confirmed as December 15, 2028.

The biggest reveal came when Coogler introduced David Jonsson as the new Black Panther.

Jonsson, known for ‘Alien: Romulus’ and ‘Industry’, is set to take on the iconic mantle in the upcoming film. The announcement adds another major change to the future of the Black Panther franchise.
