Chennai: Actor Kalyani Priyadarshan celebrated her 32nd birthday on April 5, surrounded by family in an intimate gathering that has now caught the attention of social media. A photograph shared by her father, acclaimed filmmaker Priyadarshan, has gone viral, not just for its warm familial setting but for revealing a new addition to the family.

The director posted the photo with the caption, "A moment from Kalyani's birthday celebrations." In the image, Kalyani is seen in front of a chocolate cake, joined by her brother Siddharth, his wife Merlin, and—most notably—a baby in Siddharth’s arms. The child is the daughter of Siddharth and Merlin.

Siddharth and Merlin were married in 2023. Merlin, a US citizen and a visual effects producer, tied the knot with Siddharth in a private ceremony held at a flat in Chennai, attended by only close friends and relatives. Siddharth, who served as the VFX supervisor for Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, a film directed by Priyadarshan, continues to work in the visual effects industry.
