Changanassery: Renu Sudhi, wife of late Malayalam actor and comedian Kollam Sudhi, has hit back at online trolls with a powerful statement defending her personal life. As vicious commentary about her past and private choices circulates on YouTube and social media, Renu broke her silence, saying she will not tolerate public shaming.

“Even if I marry ten or twelve times, how is it anyone’s concern?” Renu said in a video that has now gone viral on social media. “Neither my late husband Sudhi nor anyone else had an issue. Then why is a stranger digging into my personal life? Who assigned him to follow me? Is this what freedom of expression has become?”

The remarks come in response to recent YouTube content where vloggers revisited aspects of her past, sparking online abuse and moral policing. The videos triggered a fresh wave of character assassination and personal attacks, prompting Renu to seek legal recourse.

However, her experience at the police station has added another layer to the controversy.

Renu alleges that when she approached the Thrikodithanam Police Station in Changanassery to lodge a complaint against such a vlogger, the officers not only refused to register the case but also treated her with disrespect.

“They told me flatly that the complaint couldn’t be taken up by the station and should go to court instead,” Renu said. “We were two women there, and yet the police responded with anger. We live in public, we expect support, not intimidation, from the system. But they seemed more interested in brushing us off.”

Renu now plans to approach the court directly to address the matter legally.
