On November 1 2024, the makers of 'Empuraan' released a character poster that sparked widespread discussions. The poster featured a man dressed in white, standing with his back turned, with a dragon’s image behind him. This led to endless speculation about who the character might be. Eventually, many fans were convinced that it was Fahadh Faasil.

The rumours gained more traction last month when Mohanlal shared a picture of Prithviraj and Fahadh on social media with the caption, “With Zayed and Ranga.” The photo fueled further debate, and when the 'Empuraan' trailer was released, fans noticed a mysterious figure once again shown from the back. Social media buzzed with claims that the character looked like Fahadh.

Prithviraj clears the air

Finally, putting all speculation to rest, director Prithviraj confirmed that Fahadh is not in Empuraan. In an interview with Pinkvilla, when asked directly about Fahadh’s involvement, Prithviraj jokingly responded, “Yes, Fahadh is there. Tom Cruise and Robert De Niro are there too.” He then made it clear that Fahadh is not part of the film.

A cameo still on the cards?

While Fahadh may not be in Empuraan, cinematographer Sujith Vasudev previously mentioned in an interview that fans can expect a cameo role in the film. Whether this means another big surprise is in store remains to be seen.
