
Movie enthusiasts eagerly awaiting Mohanlal’s highly anticipated film ‘L2: Empuraan’ were in for a surprise as the film’s Malayalam trailer was released at midnight on YouTube. Within just a few hours, the trailer had already amassed millions of views. Following this, the trailer was also released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. The film’s team had previously announced that a grand trailer launch event would take place in Mumbai. The teaser for ‘Empuraan’ was unveiled on January 26, and the movie is set for a worldwide release on March 27.
Massive release plans across India and beyond
Written by Murali Gopy, ‘Empuraan’ will hit screens worldwide on March 27 at 6 am. Apart from Tamil Nadu, the film is getting a massive pan-India release through major distribution networks. In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the film will be distributed by Sri Venkateswara Creations, owned by producer Dil Raju. In North India, AA Films, led by Anil Thadani, is handling distribution, while in Karnataka, the well-known production and distribution house Hombale Films has taken charge.
Sequel to the blockbuster ‘Lucifer’
‘Empuraan’ is the second installment of a cinematic trilogy that began with the 2019 blockbuster ‘Lucifer.’ Mohanlal reprises his lead role in the film, which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Jerome Flynn, Baiju Santhosh, Saikumar, Andrea Tivadar, Abhimanyu Singh, Saniya Iyappan, Fazil, Sachin Khedekar, Nyla Usha, Jiju John, Nandhu, Murukan Martin, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Manikuttan, Aneesh Menon, Shivada, Alexx O’Nell, Eriq Ebouaney, Karthikeya Dev, Mikhail Novikov, Kishore, Sukant, Behzad Khan, Nikhat Khan, Satyajit Sharma, Nayan Bhatt, Shubhangi, and Jaise Jose.
The film will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada. ‘Empuraan’ has already generated immense excitement in international markets, with advance bookings starting in the Gulf, Europe, the US, and Australia. The pre-sales have reportedly set new records.
Technical crew
The film's cinematography is handled by Sujith Vaassudev, with music composed by Deepak Dev. Akhilesh Mohan is the editor, while Mohandas serves as the production designer. The stunts are choreographed by Stunt Silva, and Nirmal Sahadev has worked as the creative director.
