In a move that has sent shockwaves of excitement through the Tamil cinema fanbase, director Venkat Prabhu has confirmed Ajith Kumar’s highly-anticipated presence in Vijay's upcoming film, 'The Greatest of All Time’ aka ‘GOAT'.

In a latest interview, the film’s director, Prabhu, confirmed Ajith’s presence in ‘GOAT’ but didn’t reveal much details.

“Ajith sir's presence is definitely there in GOAT and it's going to be a high moment in the film, but I can't tell you if it's going to be a voice-over or a shot of him," said Prabhu, while leaving fans puzzled and excited.

As fans of the two superstars eagerly await this unprecedented collaboration, memories of the intense rivalry between their fan groups have resurfaced. In 2023, the release of Vijay's 'Varisu' and Ajith's 'Thunivu' sparked heated clashes and fervent debates among fans, showcasing the intense passion and loyalty that defines Kollywood fandom.

When both films clashed at the box office in January 2023, little did the stars know that their fans would also clash with each other. A ruckus broke out at the Rohini Theatre in Chennai among fandoms of the two actors upon the release of their films.

Amidst the chaos, fans of Ajith tore off and shredded Vijay’s posters, while fans of Vijay did the same to Ajith’s posters. Furthermore, fan groups damaged several hoardings of the films across locations.

The rivalry was seen once again when makers of the films’ recalled their releases upon a year of its release. But this time, instead of cinema halls, it was a battle on social media. Their fans debated on the internet who is the bigger star between the two.
