Bengaluru: The complainant has identified the hotel during evidence collection in the sexual harassment case in which director Ranjith was named as accused. Further proceedings will take place on Sunday. On Saturday, police took the complainant to various hotels in Bengaluru city for evidence collection and the man identified the hotel in the night.

The complaint had stated that he was harassed at a hotel in Bengaluru in December 2012. The case, registered by the Kasaba police in Kozhikode, was handed over to the Bengaluru Airport police.

Young man files case

The Kasaba Police had filed sexual assault case against director Ranjith, following a complaint from a young man from Kozhikode. This case adds to the earlier allegations made by a Bengali actress.

The FIR alleged that Ranjith sexually assaulted the young man in a hotel room, with charges including unnatural sexual offense. According to the complaint, the young man first met Ranjith in 2012 on the sets of the film 'Bavuttiyude Namathil' when he was a plus-two student. The complaint states that Ranjith later invited him to a five-star hotel in Bengaluru, promising a role, where the assault allegedly occurred.

The young man reported the incident at the Kasaba police station in Kozhikode and mentioned that he had informed a prominent actress about the assault on the same day, but received no response.

Previously, a Bengali actress had also accused Ranjith of sexual assault, leading to his resignation as chairman of the Kerala Chalachitra Academy.
