Priyadarshan is presently directing 'Haiwan', the Hindi remake of his critically acclaimed Malayalam thriller 'Oppam'

Acclaimed filmmaker Priyadarshan has dismissed rumours suggesting that he plans to retire after completing his 100th film. Speaking to Mathrubhumi News, the veteran director clarified that he intends to continue working as long as his health permits.
"There is no truth to the statement that I will retire after my 100th film," Priyadarshan said.
"Everyone faces health problems as they grow older—I do too. I can’t run around and shoot like I used to. I don't have the same energy as before due to age. But what I meant was that I will keep working as long as I’m healthy. I never said I was going to take up sanyasa after this."
The director, known for his prolific career across Malayalam, Hindi, and other Indian film industries, emphasised that he has not planned any grand milestone around his 100th film, other than his desire to make it with longtime collaborator and actor Mohanlal.
"When I'm working on one film, I never think about another. If you ask me what my next two films are, the answer is—I still don’t know. I haven’t thought about what my 100th film will be. The only thing I’m clear about is that it will be with Mohanlal. I have no clarity on anything else. I don’t know when it will happen or when it will start," he added.
Priyadarshan is presently directing 'Haiwan', the Hindi remake of his critically acclaimed Malayalam thriller 'Oppam'. The film features Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles.
In addition, the much-awaited third installment of 'Hera Pheri' is also in development, marking Priyadarshan's return to one of Bollywood’s most iconic comedy franchises.
