Shalini Pandey is rather familiar to South Indian audiences — the role of Preethi she played in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Arjun Reddy made her a popular name in cinema in this part of the country.

The actor, who has been juggling her work between the South and Bollywood, has now made a notable comeback to Tamil cinema after a brief gap, through Dhanush’s Idli Kadai, which also stars Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, and Samuthirakani. The music for the film is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar.

Speaking at the pre-release event of Idli Kadai, Shalini spoke highly of her senior colleague. “Dhanush sir is the finest actor,” Shalini said. She also couldn’t contain her excitement about having G. V. Prakash on board for the film’s music.

“GV, I love you… I love your music,” an elated Shalini said, offering a wholesome moment to the crowd.

Interestingly, Shalini and G. V. Prakash had earlier acted together in the 2019 film 100% Kadhal.

The promising talent also thanked the entire cast and crew of Idli Kadai — a film directed by Dhanush himself.

The film, which released on October 1, is being touted as a family drama and has raked in decent box-office numbers in its first few days. It continues to attract good footfall, though it faces tough competition from Rishab Shetty’s folklore drama Kantara: Chapter 1.

Meanwhile, Idli Kadai is a warm tale of homecoming and a touching father-son bond, beautifully rooted in the rural Tamil Nadu backdrop.
