Sri Lanka’s Parliament honoured beloved Malayalam actor Mohanlal during his recent visit to the country for the shoot of an upcoming film directed by Mahesh Narayanan. The actor was invited to the parliamentary session by Deputy Speaker Dr Rizvi Salih, and the moment was marked by warmth and admiration.

Mohanlal attended the session as a guest in the gallery, where Dr Rizvi Salih introduced him to the members of the House. A video of Mohanlal respectfully standing up as his name was announced has since gone viral. The actor later met Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya, Speaker Dr Jagath Wickramanayake, Deputy Speaker Dr Rizvi Salih and Secretary-General of Parliament Kushani Rohanadeera.

Expressing his gratitude on social media, Mohanlal said he was deeply honoured by the warm welcome at the Sri Lankan Parliament. “It was a true privilege to meet Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya, Speaker Dr Jagath Wickramanayake, Deputy Speaker Dr Rizvi Salih and my dear friend Ishant Ratnayake. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this visit to Sri Lanka a memorable one,” he wrote, along with photos from the event.

The actor is currently in Sri Lanka for the eighth schedule of the big-budget film that also stars Mammootty in a lead role. This schedule includes scenes featuring Mohanlal alongside Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil and Darshana Rajendran. Nayanthara, Sereen Shihab and Revathi also play key roles in the film.

The film's cinematography is handled by Manesh Nandan. Produced by Anto Joseph under the banner of Anto Joseph Film Company, the movie also has C R Salim, Subhash George Manuel as co-producers and Rajesh Krishnan and C V Sarathi as executive producers.
