'DC', starring Lokesh Kanagaraj, Wamiqa Gabbi and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, is heading to OTT after its theatrical release on August 7. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the Tamil romantic action thriller has emerged as one of the notable performers at the 2026 box office, with its OTT release set to give audiences another way to watch the film.

The film marks Lokesh Kanagaraj’s debut as a lead actor. Known primarily as a filmmaker, Lokesh has directed films including ‘Maanagaram’, ‘Kaithi’, ‘Master’, ‘Vikram’ and ‘Leo’. He also recently directed ‘Coolie’, starring Rajinikanth.

In 'DC', Lokesh plays Das, an outlaw whose life takes a violent turn after the death of his lover, Parvathy, played by Sanjana Krishnamoorthy. Wamiqa Gabbi plays Chandra, a sex worker who becomes involved in Das’ quest for revenge.

The film draws from Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic novel Devdas, but presents the central story through a darker action-driven setting. The narrative follows Das as he goes after the police officers responsible for Parvathy’s death, with Chandra becoming part of his journey.

Where will 'DC' stream?

'DC' is reportedly set to stream on Sun NXT, which was revealed as the film’s official streaming partner in the theatrical release.

However, the makers and Sun NXT have not announced an official OTT premiere date yet. Based on the usual six-to-eight-week window followed by several theatrical releases, 'DC' could arrive on the platform between September 18 and October 2, 2026. These dates are only an expected window and should not be treated as a confirmed release schedule.

The OTT release will also make the film available to viewers who did not watch it during its theatrical run.

'DC' sweeps box office

'DC' opened in theatres on August 7 and recorded a strong start. According to the figures mentioned for the film, it crossed the Rs 50 crore mark worldwide within four days of release.

The film has also entered the list of the top 10 highest-grossing Tamil films of 2026, adding to its theatrical run before its eventual OTT premiere.

With Sun NXT attached as its streaming partner, the next major update is expected to be the official announcement of the digital release date.
