Australian cricketer David Warner is all set to make his Indian film debut with a cameo in the upcoming Telugu action film Robinhood, directed by Venky Kudumula. The left-handed batter, known for his explosive performances on the field, surprised fans at a pre-release event by speaking in Telugu, winning hearts instantly.
Speaking at the event, Warner expressed his gratitude towards his Indian fans. “Namaskaram. Thank you all. Appreciate you all turning up. From the bottom of my heart, I want to say thank you to all for the support for the last 15 years. Really appreciate it.”
He also shared his nervousness about stepping into the film industry.
“To Mythri Movie Makers, director Venky, I was very nervous getting out of my coloured clothing and getting into the film industry. You brought it to my attention to come. I spoke to you. I reached out to Sree Leela as well to say I am humbled for the offer to come and participate in the movie but I wanted to make sure it was going to be a big success. And I was nervous to come into your family and world because it is foreign but thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is amazing and I feel privileged and honoured that you guys have all accepted me into your family.”
A special moment in telugu
As the audience cheered him on, director Venky encouraged Warner to say something in Telugu. He obliged, saying, “Ninna nenu premisthunnanu” (I love you), sending the crowd into a frenzy.
Robinhood
With just a few days to go before its release on 28th March, Robinhood has already generated a huge buzz. The film stars Nithiin as a thief who steals from the rich to help the poor. Playing a fearless and bold character named Honey Singh, he takes on anyone willing to pay the right price.
Originally set for release last year, the film's launch was postponed to March 28, but the anticipation only seems to have grown. The recently released theatrical trailer has further amped up the excitement.
