Thiruvananthapuram: Mammooty-Jyothika starrer ‘Kaathal: The core’ directed by Jeo Baby is getting a good reception at the International Film Festival of Kerala(IFFK). The reservation for the first screening of the film at the festival was filled within minutes. Delegates flocked to get admission in the 30 percent seats allotted to non-reserved persons.
The film started later than scheduled due to the rush hour. Many people got into a verbal spat with the organisers for failing to watch the screening while others turned away disappointed.
The delegates allege that the 30 percent seats were not allotted to the non-reserved persons who had stood waiting in queue for hours. It is also alleged that organisers showed favouritism towards some and gave them entry through the back door.
Although the delegates expressed their willingness to sit on the ground, the organisers were not ready to let anyone in at first. After a while, a few delegates were allowed to watch the film in this manner.
Director Jeo Baby, screenwriter Adarsh Sukumaran, and actors Kumar Sunil and Sudhi Kozhikode attended the screening. After the screening at the Goa International Film Festival and theatrical release, the film was screened at the 28th IFFK.
