Georgina Rodríguez responds to body-shamers with a powerful message on self-worth, body positivity and Cristiano Ronaldo's support after bikini criticism.

Georgina Rodríguez has delivered a powerful response to online criticism over her appearance, using her latest social media post to challenge unrealistic beauty standards and encourage self-acceptance.
The model and influencer, who is engaged to football icon Cristiano Ronaldo, addressed recurring comments about her body after photographs of her enjoying a holiday in a swimsuit sparked discussion online. Rather than ignoring the criticism, Rodríguez turned the conversation into a message about confidence, motherhood and the importance of valuing people beyond physical appearance.
Sharing a series of holiday photographs alongside a lengthy Instagram note, the 32-year-old reflected on how public scrutiny has become an annual experience and why she refuses to let it define her.
A message about ageing, confidence and self-worth
Rodríguez began by acknowledging that physical appearance naturally changes over time, saying she embraces that reality instead of fearing it.
"My body will change, just as every woman’s body does. And I hope it continues to do so for many years, because that will mean I am still alive."
Her message went beyond responding to criticism, focusing instead on the broader issue of how society judges women's bodies. She questioned who establishes beauty ideals and why appearance continues to influence perceptions of happiness and success.
"Who decides what the “right” body is? Do we really still think happiness comes in a specific size?"
The influencer also explained that her commitment to exercise has never been driven by a desire to become thinner but by the physical and emotional benefits it brings.
"I work out because it makes me happy. Because I’m passionate about it. Because that hour at the gym is one of the best parts of my day. It gives me health, peace of mind, discipline, energy, and well-being. It has never been a battle to lose weight; it has always been a way of taking care of myself."
Turning criticism into a lesson for her daughters
As a mother, Rodríguez said the episode reinforced the values she hopes to pass on to her children, particularly her three daughters.
She wrote that she wants them to understand that confidence should never depend on appearance or the judgement of strangers. Rodríguez also praised Ronaldo for sharing the same outlook, describing him as someone whose values as both a father and a man make her proud.
"I am the mother of six wonderful children; three are girls who will one day grow up to be great women. And if there is one thing I want to teach them, alongside Cris, of whom I am deeply proud for the values he embodies as a father and a man, it is that a person’s worth can never depend on their physical appearance or the opinions of strangers. That small dose of positive psychology I try to share with them every day also helps me stay grounded in this world of so much fantasy."
Ronaldo's reassurance after online criticism
Rodríguez admitted that constant attention on her appearance occasionally affects her confidence. She recalled telling Ronaldo that the comments had left her anxious because her public image forms part of her career.
According to Rodríguez, the footballer reminded her that her identity extends far beyond how she looks.
"And he replied, ‘You don’t live off your image. You live off who you are. A perfect woman. Beautiful, with a killer body, a mother, a good person, successful, and someone who lives life with love. What more could you want?’"
She also revealed that criticism of her appearance has become almost predictable.
"The funny thing is, this happens every summer. Every year, my body becomes a headline."
'I love my curves'
Ending her message on a defiant and optimistic note, Rodríguez said she has learned to appreciate her body for everything it has enabled her to experience rather than how it is judged by others.
"I love my curves. I love the freedom of living in the body I choose. In the body that sustains me, that has allowed me to embrace others, create life, fall down, and get back up again. A body that deserves respect, love, and gratitude in every version of itself.."
She concluded by explaining that her definition of success has little to do with appearance or public opinion.
Her priorities, she said, are living peacefully, spending time with loved ones, protecting her health, continuing to learn and embracing life's everyday moments.
Rodríguez, who has established herself in the fashion world with appearances at events including the Met Gala and the Cannes Film Festival, joins a growing list of public figures speaking openly about body-shaming and unrealistic beauty expectations.
