Kochi: Actor Rizabawa (55) passed away here on Monday as he was undergoing treatment for kidney disease at a private hospital in Kochi.
Rizabawa has acted in over 100 movies. He debuted in Malayalam film industry through the movie ‘Vishupakshi’. However, it was not released. Later, he acted opposite to leading actress Parvathi in the movie ‘Dr Pasupathi’ in 1990. He rose to fame after playing the villain role 'John Honai' in the Siddique-Lal movie ‘In Harihar Nagar’.
Several VIPs including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, actors Indrajith, Prithviraj, Harishree Asokan, Aju Varghese, Chemban Vinod and others expressed condolensces on social media on knowing the demise of the actor.
Apart from movies, Rizabawa was also active in television serials and dubbing field. He also won the state award for best dubbing artist through the movie ‘Karmayogi’. He played both character roles and negative roles. He was also active in dramas too.</p> <p>'Dr Pasupathi', 'Anaval Mothiram', 'Bandhukkal Sathrukkal', 'Kabuliwala', 'Vadhu Doctoranu', 'Aniyan Bava Chettan Bava', 'Oomapenninu Uriyada Payyan', 'Pokkiriraja' and 'Simhasanam' are his noted movies. He was last seen in Mammootty-starrer ‘One’.</p>
