Kochi: Actress Ansiba Hassan has demanded the formation of a special, non-partisan committee to independently hear her complaints against AMMA executive member Tini Tom and executive committee member actress Lakshmipriya.

Following big outbursts and divisions within the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) triggered by Ansiba's allegations, the organisation had officially sent her a letter to hear her arguments.

The Executive Committee had directed her to appear in person at the AMMA office with evidence between June 1 and June 3. Ansiba clarified her stance and conditions in an email sent in response to this directive.

She informed that she would only be able to appear either on June 1 or on any day after June 7.

Demand for a non-partisan committee

Ansiba’s primary demand is that her complaint should not be heard by the AMMA executive committee, but rather by an impartial panel. She pointed out that since her allegations are against members of the executive committee themselves, she would not receive justice if they were to hear the complaint.

Ansiba has suggested three names for the new committee: Ramesh Pisharody, Maala Parvathi and Dhyan Sreenivasan. She also requested that if any of them face any inconvenience, another acceptable person should be appointed in consultation with her.

‘Hearing must be video recorded’

She further demanded that the proceedings of the complaint hearing before the committee must be entirely video recorded, and she should be permitted to keep a copy of the footage. The committee must also hear the responses of Tini Tom and the other members against whom the allegations have been made. She made it clear that a fair decision should only be taken after hearing the arguments of all parties involved and that the mechanism must function in a manner that ensures complete justice.
