Jungkook, currently touring North America with BTS as part of the ARIRANG World Tour, has achieved a landmark recognition outside the world of music. The global star has been included in a US elementary-level educational textbook, becoming the first K-pop artist in history to be featured in such academic material.

Alongside fellow members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin and V, Jungkook continues to captivate global audiences on tour. But his latest achievement reveals how deeply his impact has penetrated mainstream culture in the United States.

Jungkook featured in Brain Candy Books’ 2026 edition

The 28-year-old singer has been selected as the central figure in the 2026 edition of the US-based educational series Brain Candy Books, which introduces young students to influential cultural icons. Known widely as BTS’ Golden Maknae and a record-breaking soloist, Jungkook now finds his name printed alongside global heavyweights such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Dua Lipa.

The series aims to inspire children by spotlighting personalities who shape global culture through music, sports and entertainment.

What does the textbook say about Jungkook?

The book traces Jungkook’s trajectory from a young trainee in South Korea to one of the most recognisable names in global pop. It documents both his rise with BTS and his evolution into a powerhouse solo artist, often highlighted as “the face of BTS.” His string of chart-topping singles, vocal prowess and dynamic stage presence are credited with redefining the international reach of K-pop.

The study material also explores his personal philosophy, commitment to excellence and artistic growth. It recognises his versatility, from strong vocals and sharp choreography to his influence as a social media phenomenon and cultural icon.

Record-breaking achievements highlight his global appeal

Among the standout career milestones included in the book is Jungkook becoming the first Korean soloist to chart seven songs on the Billboard Hot 100. His electrifying performance of ‘Dreamers’, the official anthem of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, at the tournament’s opening ceremony further expanded his worldwide audience.

Jungkook’s solo contributions within BTS include ‘Begin’ (2016), ‘Euphoria’ (2018) and ‘My Time’ (2020). His global footprint widened in 2022 with the hit ‘Left and Right’, a collaboration with Charlie Puth. He later released his debut studio album ‘Golden’ in 2023, featuring chart-topping singles ‘Seven’, ‘3D’ and ‘Standing Next to You’.
