K-pop super group BTS is gearing up for a historic return to the global stage following the completion of mandatory military service by all seven members. The group officially reunited in June and subsequently travelled to Los Angeles, where they began writing and recording new material for their highly anticipated comeback album.
The record, produced in collaboration with a team of award-winning composers and producers, is slated for release in spring 2026. Industry insiders suggest that the album will be followed by an extensive world tour, marking one of the largest undertakings in BTS' career to date.
According to Finance News, the group’s 2026 tour is expected to run from May through December, encompassing approximately 65 performances across the globe. Attendance is projected to exceed 4 million fans, with each concert likely to draw crowds of more than 60,000. Analysts predict the tour could significantly boost HYBE’s operating profits, pushing them into the 100 billion KRW range from the second quarter of 2026. This will be their first world tour since the Permission to Dance on Stage tour in 2021.
In the lead-up to their return, BTS is actively keeping fans engaged through a series of global initiatives. From September 24 to October 5, four of their concert films are being screened in 2,500 cinemas across 65 countries. Pop-up stores are also being planned in major cities worldwide, allowing fans to celebrate BTS’ legacy and look ahead to their next chapter.
The group is reportedly currently back in South Korea, finalising recordings for the new album and preparing for their global comeback. In the meantime, individual members continue to maintain a strong international presence, with appearances at high-profile fashion events in Milan and Paris.
With their comeback album and massive world tour on the horizon, BTS’ return is set to be one of the most anticipated events in the global music industry in 2026.
