Brooklyn Beckham has publicly accused his parents, football legend David Beckham and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, of trying to control his life and damaging his marriage to actress Nicola Peltz. In a lengthy statement shared on social media, the 26-year-old said the alleged family conflict caused severe emotional distress and forced him to speak out after months of media speculation about tensions within the Beckham family.

In a six-page statement, Brooklyn said he decided to go public after what he described as repeated attempts by his parents and their representatives to influence press coverage about his personal life.

“Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed. I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” he wrote.

He further alleged that his parents went to great lengths to protect their public image, claiming, “Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they'll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”

Brooklyn also made serious claims about the planning of his 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz, alleging that Victoria Beckham had initially agreed to design Nicola’s wedding dress but later pulled out at the last minute. Nicola eventually wore Valentino Haute Couture on her big day.

He also described an incident during the wedding reception, saying singer Marc Anthony invited him on stage for what he thought would be his first dance with Nicola. Instead, Brooklyn said his mother joined him on stage.

“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,” he wrote, adding that the moment left lasting emotional scars. He said he and Nicola later renewed their vows in 2025 to replace the painful memory with a happier one.

Brooklyn further claimed that weeks before the wedding, his parents had “repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name,” though he did not clarify which rights he was referring to. He said refusing to do so “affected the payday” and changed how his parents treated him.

In his statement, Brooklyn also opened up about his mental health struggles, revealing that he grew up dealing with severe anxiety. He said stepping away from his parents has helped him heal.

“Since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared,” he wrote, adding that he and Nicola now want to live a quiet life focused on peace and privacy.

The Beckham family has not yet publicly responded to Brooklyn’s allegations.
