In the same conversation, Manikuttan also spoke about his much-loved character 'Sainu' in ‘Chotta Mumbai’

Manikuttan first stole the hearts of the Malayali audience as Kayamkulam Kochunni in the much-loved yesteryear television serial. He then made his film debut as the lead actor in Vinayan’s Boy Friend, which also marked Honey Rose’s first film. Lakshmi Gopalaswamy was also part of the cast, and the film released in 2005.
In a conversation with The Cue Studio, the actor candidly spoke about his bond with Honey Rose, stating, “Yeah, we still do talk at times, but then there’s coincide…” the actor chuckled.
“See, Honey Rose and I… I feel we are the evergreen ‘bachelors’,” he said, inviting laughs, as both actors are yet to get married. “We started our journey together and are continuing it in our own ways.”
In the same conversation, Manikuttan also spoke about his much-loved character 'Sainu' in Chotta Mumbai and shared fond memories of working with co-stars including Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Indrajith, and Bhavana.
He recalled an early bond with Bhavana, formed during an AMMA stage show, where he nervously stepped in to perform a dance with her after another artist dropped out. Despite being a rising star across South Indian industries at the time, Bhavana agreed without hesitation—a gesture Manikuttan fondly remembers.
While they shared screen space in Chotta Mumbai, they had limited interaction on set due to her packed schedule. It was only during the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) events that their friendship deepened. Manikuttan fondly recalled her charm and cheerful company, despite her limited knowledge of cricket.
His warm recollections highlight a friendship rooted in humility, mutual respect, and shared off-screen moments.
